Peace'O'Pie

Little miss done on love
Little miss, I give up
Little miss, I’ll get tough, don’t you worry about me anymore
Little miss checkered dress
Little miss, one big mess
Little miss, I’ll take less when I always give so much more

It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright
Yeah, sometimes you gotta lose ‘til you win
It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright
It’ll be alright again
It’ll be alright again, I’m okay
It’ll be alright again, I’m okay (I’m okay)
It’ll be alright again, I’m okay

Little miss, do your best
Little miss, never rest
Little miss, be my guest, I’ll make more anytime that it runs out
Little miss, you’ll go far
Little miss, hide your scars
Little miss, who you are is so much more than you like to talk about

It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright
Yeah, sometimes you gotta lose ‘til you win
It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright
It’ll be alright again
It’ll be alright again, I’m okay
It’ll be alright again, I’m okay (I’m okay)
It’ll be alright again, I’m okay

Hold on
Hold on, you are loved
Are loved…

Little miss, brand new start
Little miss, do your part
Little miss, big old heart beats wide open and she’s ready now for love

It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright
Yeah, sometimes you gotta lose ‘til you win
It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright
It’ll be alright again
It’ll be alright again, I’m okay
It’ll be alright again, I’m okay (I’m okay, it’ll be alright again)
I’m okay! (It’ll be alright again)

Proud to Be Strong and Beautiful

So, I was sitting with Carmen the other day in downtown Hollywood, which is becoming my favorite spot down here, and I drank in beauty. It was a warm, humid Florida night, we were full from our delicious Romanian dinner and dessert while listening to flamenco guitar beneath the twinkle lights, and this woman walked in front of us. I thought she was beautiful and I wanted to marvel at her, so I followed her with my eyes until she disappeared around the corner. Carmen began to laugh at me. All I could say is, “Why are women so beautiful?”

It’s true. I look at all of the women in my life and they are all in some way beautiful. Women are strong, elegant masters of the world. They give birth, provide for their family, comfort their others, and always pool together as a strong support network when needed. No matter where you go, as a woman you can always count on another woman to have your back, offer you a tampon, or at least understand.

Women are incredible. They are such beautiful symbols or life, peace, and perseverance. I almost can’t believe that I am a woman. Being in such awe of women myself, it’s as if I’m not sure I could live up to the powerful image of woman in my head. I just love women so much and I could not be prouder to have been born one.  I hope that one day all women will feel this sense of pride in themselves.

It’s a mess.

When did loving someone become so difficult? Here we have love, the most beautiful, shiny, happy thing in the world, and we can’t help but pollute it with temporary problems, over-thinking, pride, and selfish ambition. We fuck it up every time.
